Batch Trip Day-2

Rise and shine people.

Its 5:30 in the morning, Keser is in bathroom and Piyush still refusing to leave the poor pillow alone :D.

Bus is ready to leave. Gosh !! have to complete my dream in the bus.

Now, we are at a temple on our way to Ooty!!

Why all the temples here have same, exactly same front gate ?

so, the gigantic Temple,

And gigantic Ratha !!

So, there is a wild life sanctuary … ohh did i say “a” no no actually there are two wild-life sanctuary on the Mysore-ooty Highway. Bandipur National Park and its continuation Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary .

We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of Elephant with its calf.

And we also fed biscuits to Deers 🙂

But no one knew that there is a catastrophe waiting for us at Barrier. Two other buses didn’t have permit to cross the border. And so we spend almost five hours there till the other buses came.

Yah !! we were a bit disappointed, but our motive was to have fun .. n that we had. Also did some thing which most of us had never done before.

Yah!! climbed the bus, and surprisingly even gals joined in.

Finally, Buses arrived and guys of other two buses left. They took the shortcut and reached Ooty in time.

But, Destiny has some thing else in mind for us.

We passed by some enchanting landscapes.

But as i mentioned before, we couldn’t reach reach Ooty, there was some kind of wrangle going on b/w Police and the local merchants. Hmm.. few more hours !!

Well!! I .. i.e. me .. suggested to play dumb charade. Initially there were only few of us, every one joined us later on.

Ultimately we reached our hotel. At around 7:30 or something.

After getting the rooms, we(means me, keser, piyush, meghna, swati n swati ) thought of exploring the place lill bit.

here we got a call from bhaggo calling us for bonfire.

“akele chale, log judte rahe aur karvan banta gaya ”

Bonfire was fun. but it didn’t last long (some reason) .

Hmm.. so here the Day-2 ended. Of course we went to sleep after that 🙂 !!

PS :- Hope i’ll finish the third and final post early.

PS:– Saw HP-5, was better than HP-4.

PS:— Won the lazer combat and a go-kart race at Runway-9. Thank-u IIIT, for CZ and NFS 😀 !!

PS:—- Biggest shock of today :- Sanjay Dutt sentenced to six years in prison. What will happen to “Munna Chale America”. I was really looking forward to it.

PS:—– Song of the week – Ek din teri raahon – Nabaab …. sry sry sry Naqaab.

PS:—— Missed this convocation also.

PS:——- Have to take Quiz this week on Hindu Mythology. Lets c, how much we know bout us.

PS:——– Chalo bhai, khel khatam ghar jaoo .. yhe to roz ka rona hai 😀 !! (Ok guys! game’s over, go home, its the same story everyday)

Batch trip day-1

Well, this post was pending since 3 months, PC got all F****D up, BTP work, Home trip and other blah blah stuff…

Anyways, Late is better then never ….

so, UG-2K4 batch trip… guess were were above 90 in, two local (junta) buses filled with IIITian left the campus.

Boarded train to B’lore from Kacheguda Railway-Station.

The default game Antakshiri did help in passing the time.

Reached Bangalore at, i donno may be 7 or 8 AM, left for the hotel to stretch our legs and yah! to bath and do other morning stuff :D.

I did stretch my legs though.

Dressed up, packed bags and took this pic, and all set to leave for mysore.

There were three buses, two were full of guys, and our with all the gals and rest of the guys ;).

Played Mixed Antakshari i.e. all languages allowed. It was fun !!

So, first stop Dariy Daulat Bag.

Nice place! we were told that it was Tipu’s summer Darbar.

Was never interested in history, and wasn’t that time either. But did some usual photogiri.

Keser was very curious though … wanted to know every thing inside out.

Lunch time now, … lunch at nice restaurant-Mysore

Next destination, Mysore palace

Did a lill …. mmm.. lill more BC there.

AIEEE counselling 2007

 

AIEEE counselling finished. Obviously IIIT-Hs seats were filled on the first day of counselling.

 

Well!! Opening and closing rank for

CSE – 256-1705

CSD– 1378- 2636

ECE – 650-1855

ECD – 1884- 2273

 

Some interesting facts to note:-

– 60/210 from AP i.e. 28.57%, last year it was 37.14%.

– Both opening and closing rank of CSE, from Rajasthan.

– Next to AP is RJ with 48 students opting for IIIT-H and then its MP with(28).

– Opening and Closing rank this year 256-2636 n it was 82-1971 last year.

 

 

Came across two popular topics of Discussion among the students …

 

1^st… Students opting for IIIT-H from AP had a drastic fall within last 3-4 year. If I m not wrong in our batch the ratio of AP:ROI (rest of India) was bout 1:1 now it has dropped to 2:7.

 

Reason:-

Compulsory accommodation, even for the localites (yes I herd it).

No more rumors in the market :D.

(Actual)

Increase in the awareness bout IIIT-H, in North India.

Drop in the no. of rankers from AP.

 

 

2^nd… fall in opening and closing rank of IIIT-H.

 

Reason:-

Students opted for other colleges over IIIT-H, coz those colleges got better rank in some shit survey.

 

Hefty fee structure

 

Private, and don’t have Indian in its name (yes I heard this one too)

Possible reason could be the increase in the seats of IIT. It has been increased from 4078 to 4600 this year coz of the reservation thing.

 

 

 

PS:- Classes begins from tomorrow :(.

PS:—- Bappe n chauhan came for 1 day … just to deposite fee. (save 500Rs fine by spending 1200 on tickets, cleaver !!)
